event of the year that includes a free map reading clinic, training maps and orienteering
events. Try night orienteering on the
golf course using controls mark with reflectors so that are easily visible with
a headlamp. The signature event is the Fundy Challenge that will include a
beginner course and courses that will challenge experience navigators. There
will be a Team Relay that will be fun for the family, make this a family
rivalry.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Orienteering is a sport
using a map and compass to navigate to points mark on the map. The quest is to
find controls, orange and white triangle flags, located at distinct features,
such as, trail junctions. A map will be provided to help you with your journey.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Equipment: All that you need is a compass and a whistle and dress appropriately for the weather.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">If new to the sport of orienteering
there will be someone to help you get started.

Three (3) days; Mai 18, 19 and 20</p><p><strong>Type of challenge</strong>: A training course for experience navigators that will be located in an area of complex terrain and a mixture of vegetation.</p><p><strong>Registration: </strong>To obtain a map contact Harold McQuade, <a href="mailto:hm@orienteering.nb.ca">hm@orienteering.nb.ca</a>. A limited number of maps will also be available for pick up at the map reading clinic between 1pm to 2pm.</p><p><strong>Start: </strong>Butland Lookout. Essayez la course d’orientation de nuit sur le terrain de golf en utilisant des postes de contrôle munis de réflecteurs de sorte, les rendant facilement visibles avec une lampe frontale. L’activité principale est le Défi de Fundy, qui comprendra un parcours pour débutants et des parcours qui mettront au défi les navigateurs les plus expérimentés. Il y aura également un relais familial promettant ainsi du plaisir pour toute la famille! Faites-en une saine compétition familiale!</p> <p>L’orientation est un sport où les participants utilisent une carte et une boussole pour se rendre aux points indiqués sur la carte.
