<SI_Content>
TNT #5 takes place in West Hillhurst. The pin flags will be set up by 6pm on Tuesday 5 January 2026 and will remain in place until 8pm Wednesday 7 January 2026. There will be a bread and soup social starting 5pm Wednesday.

The email will give exact location of the start and finish. The maps will be in a bag on the front door step.

There are 4 boxes printed on the map, labelled: Start and Finish, North, South and East. You must visit all controls in the Start and Finish box, 2 will be from the start and the other two the final controls to the finish, either pair can be first or last. The other 3 boxes contain either 6 or 8 control points, you may self-handicap and decide how many you wish to visit in each box.

If you visit every control expect to run more than 7.5km.

There are 24 controls, 10 of these are Fire Hydrants with no pin flag and are marked on the desciptions by a black X, the other 14 will have a pin flag in place.

There are 4 crossing points marked on 14th Street, please make use of these and do not cross anywhere else. There are several crossing points marked on both 19th Street and 5th Ave, these are not mandatory, but you may find them useful. There is one small area of the map that has changed, I have marked a way through this where the uncrossable fence and private building are no longer relevant (between controls 45 and 49).

Cost: free for people signed up for the TNT series, $5 for other club members. You can purchase a TNT pass here. Details of the TNT series are below.

FWOC is offering TNTs (Toques ‘n Training sessions) again this year. You must be a current member of FWOC (or another Canadian orienteering club - COC Member) to participate. You only have to pay once through the registration website (2M / Interpodia), and you will be sent participant information including exact location each week.

Details:

Days of the week. 2025-2026 TNTs will usually run on both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm. Pin flags will be set out for the duration of the event (from Tuesday at 6pm to Wednesday at 8pm). Thus, participants who would prefer to run during the day can run Wednesday morning or afternoon. NOTE: The organizer has the option of making their event a weekend event.

Social Option. The organizer may host a social gathering after the event, either Tuesday or Wednesday evening. Details for this will in the email to participants. The Social could be at the organizer's house or at a nearby cafe or pub.

Barebones format: minimal effort for maximum enjoyment.Simplified registration form and pin flags (or other unique control features) in the terrain.

Family Pricing Option: To encourage families to participate, FWOC is planning to provide a family pricing option (save 30% for two or more members of a family who live in the same household) for the series of TNTs.

Cost: $25 / person for the series (or family pricing option for family members in the same household).

You need to register and pay in advance online.

The minimum number of events is 12, and we hope to offer up to 15. You can participate in as many as you like. Even if you only get to a few events, it's a pretty good deal.

All events will be put on MapRun so you can go any day after the start of the event (up to a year).

The location, PDF of the map, and mapRun details will be sent via email to all registered participants. Please do NOT share this information with people who are not registered.

If you need a map printed for you, please indicate that on the registration form.

You will need to purchase your 2026 club membership at the end of December to continue to participate

</SI_Content>
