Through a partnership with Ulnooweg, these beautiful woods were mapped by ONS and we are ready for our inaugural event, including a cultural experience AND of course, orienteering.<span class="redactor-invisible-space"></span></p><p>Asitu’l<s>i</s>sk (ah-see-dew-lisk<a href="https://www.asitulsk.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/asitulskPronunciation_two.mp3" target="popup"> </a>) means <i>That Which Gives You Balance</i>. It is an enchanting natural landscape consisting of the ancient Forest Wapane’kati and its riparian zone on the shores of Atuomkuk <i>(Wentzell) </i>Lake and the Pijnuiskaq <i>(LaHave)</i> River. It is a place where the ancestors of the Mi’kmaq flourished for thousands of years in Sin So’sepe’katik <i>(Bridgewater)</i>, in Mi’kma’ki <i>(Nova Scotia)</i>. In the care of <a href="https://www.ulnoowegeducation.ca/">Ulnooweg Education Centre</a>, Asitu’l<s>i</s>sk is a place for the Indigenous peoples of Atlantic Canada to welcome all who wish to come and learn about culture, language, ecology, health, ceremony, and science. Asitu’l<s>i</s>sk is a place to to connect the generations, and a place to heal and grow for all peoples.</p><hr><p><br></p> 6293
